With more than 20 years in the civil and earthworks industry, we bring solid experience, practical know-how and a commitment to doing the job properly. From residential sites to major commercial and infrastructure projects, our focus is always on delivering safe, efficient and high quality work.
Our story
Total Site Works began in 2005 when Matt O’Connor started the business with a focus on drainage and general site works. With more than 20 years experience as a certified drainlayer, Matt built a reputation for reliable, tidy and high quality work.
In 2023, Ben joined as co-owner, bringing another 20 years of experience in roading and pavement surfacing, along with national certificates in pavement surfacing and business management. Together, Matt and Ben lead a capable civil team with a wide range of skills and a strong commitment to doing the job properly.
Today we work across the Wellington and Hutt Valley region, taking on everything from residential builds to major commercial and infrastructure projects. We are also CAA vetted for both landside and airside work at Wellington Airport, reflecting the high standard of safety and professionalism we operate to.

Our team is made up of capable, well trained operators with solid experience across earthworks, drainage, roading and general civil work. We turn up prepared, work efficiently and keep sites safe and tidy from start to finish.
